Sage Historical Tokens - Mulings
After the original copper issue of Sage's Historical Tokens many of the dies
were combined with each and other dies by George H. and his brother Robert Jr.
to produce a large variety of tokens in various metals and in small numbers.
Some were probably produced by George H. himself to create numismatic rarities
and others struck at the request of others. A full treatment of these can
be found in Bower's "American Numismatics Before the Civil War 1760 - 1860"
Because of the rarity of these pieces some may exist that are not listed below.

U.S. Centennial medal, gilt, plain edge
It appears that George H. Lovett (or someone using his dies) cut
down an 1876 U.S. Centennial Medal H-K 22 and then overstruck
the above piece. Details of the original medal are still visible.
Below is the original medal for comparison. This is not mentioned in Bower's
